Norbert. My wife and I decided so - if Cheremushki empty, then the situation is critical. Course before the end of May, it is difficult to expect anything.
Silvio. Indeed we in ordinary life are not confronted with the destructive forces, such volumes and masses. Rare picture conveys the scale of what happened.

Hy guys,
I live in Abakan and well.... my point of view is that the whole story is not so critical.
Of course the accident what happend was just huge - in 2008 I visited the dam and was also inside the machine hall which is destroeyed now.
I think that everything will be done that not more will happen, because even Krasnoyarsk would be affected if the dam in Tsheremushki is breaking.

Oh yes, I know theirs handcraft :(
I'm engineer and did several installations in the food industry in Russia.
You know, I think they can't afford to let that happen. So I guess they are doing what's necessary to to, even if the do it in the "Russian" way

I agree with Manuel ... why should they risk the live of over one million people (Abakan, Minusinsk, Krasnojarsk, Bratsk), the economy of half Siberia (two more hydro power stations after Sayano-Shushenskoe and a dozen metal plants), ...?!
If it would be necessary to empty the lake, they would do it.

Sometimes just the obviously necessaries are not enough at all regarding a proper prevention of such incidents, that's what i'm trying to say!
So Let's hope, that all will be done in a proper way and there won't happen any incident in the future.
All the best,
Silvio

At present it is impossible to empty the reservoir without the partial destruction of the dam. But this can lead to unpredictable consequences - is an arch dam. Thus half a million people against the world's highest rates. This is the Russian way.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Emergency Situations refused to sign the Declaration on the safety of the dam until not developed a computer model of its destruction. This news came on 19 January. Need I add that this document is not signed yet?

Yesterday was closed branch
http://forums.drom.ru/hakasiya/t1151243814.html
to discuss the problem of winter spillway Sayano-Shushenskaya GES. It is noteworthy that the moderator of this topic (nickname Tango) is a member of the same plant. Therefore, this branch should enjoy the special confidence of the visitors. However, in the past few weeks, the branch has been filled by several flooders and the moderator has ignored repeated requests to clean branch.
As a result of inconvenient for the administration of the dam debate was closed.
