Sorry for oftop - I do not speak German, so I use my English and English of Google.
You probably know about the accident at the Sayan-Shushenskaya hydro power plant.
In Russia, the discussion of this topic is not happening in the press. The most famous forums where this discussion took place, infested with people whose mission is belittling the seriousness of the problem.

Here are some of the branches, which arose after the accident:
All of them Russian-speaking naturally.
Here are the events from the beginning, August 17, 2009. The branch was closed.
http://forums.drom.ru/hakasiya/t1151239745.html

Then the discussion moved here:
http://forums.drom.ru/hakasiya/t1151275468.html

And now the problem of the dam are also discussed here:
http://forums.drom.ru/hakasiya/t1151243814.html

In these three subjects are almost all references to known sources of the accident, known in Russia.

In order to prevent a possible tragedy, citizens of the webcam, which is around the clock with a period of 1 minute updates the image with a view of the Yenisei right directly behind the dam.Note that in the dark monitoring almost impossible - quite the opposite shore, has been neglected:

Now create an open letter demanding an independent commission to assess the status of the dam. Beneath it is already signed up more than 2,5 thousand people. One must take into account that the population in the area of possible flooding usually does not have the internet:

This introduction to the topic.
Currently around Sayano-Shushenskaya dam began to unfold the political struggle, which was reflected in the fact that the forces of protest against exploitation of the dam was divided. A week ago I was invited to participate in civil society organizations, favoring the installation of instrumentation on the dam. And I refused, because the leadership of this organization is not excluded that in the future resort to the help of some political parties.

Thus, people concerned about possible destruction of the dam and living in the immediate area of flooding gradually become hostage to political games.

So I ask you to share sources of information about this issue, as seen in the west. If you speak the Russian language, then please express your opinion on any forums that discuss these issues.

Hi Dmitry,
of course the discussion won't take place in the normal press. The russian federation won't the people starting became afraid about that topic! So it is like everywhere(in Mordovia it was just the same kind of issue with the pork flu, Officially 2 people died.....inofficially lots more). Officially everything is fine, but underneath the official fine situation the bad situation becomes more and more worse.

Unfortunately my russian understanding is not that good, means i'm not understanding that much of what i read on your posted websites.

best regards,
Silvio

Silvio

Thank you very much for your reply. We in Russia long ago not surprised that the press does not reflect the real situation. In the press I am not so much seeking the truth, how much trying to catch the overall complexity of the situation. I wonder how this problem is seen in the west.

Norbert

Thank you for good idea! I do not it occurred. Academic city should well understand this issue.

Sorry. Advertise here nothing. My wife is already a month ago, gathered documents, and they are in the bag in the hallway. And although we do not expect surprises, at least until spring, so peaceful.

I don't think so ;), looks not like Spam to me!
Kannst Du die Links nicht kürzen, so daß sie noch lesbar aber nichtmehr auffindbar sind?

It is not the World at all! Just each single Country for itself. Whatever incidents will occur in other countries, just a couple of headlines and that's it!
Only really big incidents, like earthquakes, flood and so on, with hundreds of deaths and victims will stay updated in the news even in other countries around the world!

Yes, Silvio, you're right. And then there's hands-off policy. In Russia, supporters of public control dams considered to be accomplices of the spies. :-)
